What to Expect About Real Estate and Housing

Attorneys who agree to represent individuals with Real Estate issues usually charge on an hourly basis, but may work from a fixed-fee basis for some services.

Attorneys sometimes charge for expenses incurred on behalf of clients. These expenses may include copying charges, long-distance phone charges, postage, faxes, court filing fees, the cost of court reporters, expert witness fees, and other expenses associated with handling your case. Ask the attorney what you will be charged for.

Attorneys are not required to provide a written fee arrangement, but you should ask for one.  These help clarify what you will be charged for, when you are expected to pay your invoices, and what you should do if you have a concern about fees.
